A Projected $1.2 Trillion Annual Market by 2030 Highlights the Enormous Scale of the Global AI Infrastructure Buildout

New York, NY – September 15, 2026 – Market News Updates News Commentary – If looking for one of the biggest technology growth stories taking shape right now, AI infrastructure deserves a serious look. The AI boom isn’t just about the companies building the next chatbot or AI model. Behind all of it is a massive physical and digital infrastructure buildout—data centers, GPUs, networking equipment, cooling systems, power generation, storage and cloud computing. S&P Global estimates the global AI infrastructure market could generate about $337 billion in revenue in 2025 and grow to roughly $1.2 trillion annually by 2030. That represents an extraordinary expansion in just five years and points to a market that is becoming too large for investors to ignore. What makes this particularly interesting is that companies are already spending billions to secure the computing capacity they need, suggesting this is no longer a future opportunity. The infrastructure buildout is happening now.   Active tech companies in the markets to be aware of today include; Vertical Data Inc. (OTCQB: VDTA), IREN Limited (NASDAQ: IREN), Nebius Group N.V. (NASDAQ: NBIS), Applied Digital Corporation (NASDAQ: APLD), Hut 8 Corp. (NASDAQ: HUT).

And there may be another major wave of growth ahead. AI models are becoming more powerful, businesses are moving AI from testing into everyday operations, and the demand for AI inference—the computing required every time an AI system actually performs a task—is exploding. S&P Global projects AI inference infrastructure revenue could jump from approximately $101 billion in 2025 to $532 billion by 2030, while AI infrastructure hardware could climb from about $298 billion to $946 billion during the same period. Longer term, the numbers become even more striking, with PwC estimating that global AI infrastructure investment could ultimately reach approximately $31.6 trillion by 2050. For investors, the takeaway is simple: AI needs an enormous amount of real-world infrastructure to function, and the companies supplying the computing power, data centers, electricity, networking and cooling needed to support that growth could have a very large market in front of them.

Key AI Infrastructure Growth Drivers:

  • $1.2 trillion annual market opportunity by 2030 could make AI infrastructure one of the largest technology spending categories.
  • AI inference could reach $532 billion by 2030, creating a powerful second wave of demand beyond AI model training.
  • AI infrastructure hardware could approach $946 billion by 2030, highlighting the enormous need for computing equipment.
  • Data-center and power requirements are accelerating as AI workloads demand significantly more computing capacity.
  • Long-term investment could reach $31.6 trillion by 2050, illustrating just how large the potential AI infrastructure buildout could become.

Vertical Data Secures $192 Million AI Infrastructure Commitment for Global AI Developer —  Vertical Data Inc. (OTCQB: VDTA) (“Vertical Data” or the “Company”), a vertically integrated AI infrastructure company providing GPU financing, AI hardware, sovereign cloud and edge data center solutions, today announced it has signed a Letter of Intent (“LOI”) with a global AI developer (the “Customer”) for the deployment of a dedicated, single-tenant NVIDIA B300 Blackwell Ultra GPU cluster to be deployed at an AI ready data center in Western Europe. The LOI contemplates an aggregate contract value of approximately $192.1 million over a five-year initial term on a take-or-pay basis, with initial service commencement targeted for the first quarter of 2027.

  • Agreement outlines a dedicated 1,024-GPU NVIDIA B300 Blackwell Ultra cluster anchored by a binding take-or-pay structure
  • Parties are finalizing a definitive Master Services Agreement with service commencement targeted for Q1 2027

“Foundation model developers require infrastructure partners who can deliver purpose-built, high density compute on their exact timelines,” said Deven Soni, Chief Executive Officer of Vertical Data. “This $192 million commitment proves that our strategy of delivering turnkey capacity is exactly what the market needs. Securing a binding take-or-pay structure for a Blackwell Ultra cluster, backed by a contractual deposit, validates our corporate growth strategy and allows us to turn our maximum attention to a rapid Q1 2027 delivery.”

Under the terms of the LOI, Vertical Data will leverage its priority hardware pipeline to deploy and operate 128 of the latest generation NVIDIA HGX B300 servers. This dedicated, single tenant cluster of 1,024 NVIDIA B300 Blackwell Ultra GPUs is targeted for service commencement in Q1 2027. The enterprise grade deployment is engineered specifically for sovereign AI workloads within the European Economic Area, featuring complete physical and network isolation, multi petabyte storage, and 24/7 managed engineering support. By aligning with strict data residency requirements and SOC 2 Type II, ISO 27001, and GDPR compliance standards, the turnkey infrastructure provides the absolute security and governance controls required by top tier foundation model developers.

The LOI includes binding take-or-pay and deposit obligations covering the full contracted compute and storage capacity for the five-year initial term, at a fixed rate. The remaining commercial, operational and delivery terms of the transaction are non-binding and remain subject to negotiation and execution of a definitive Master Services Agreement, which the Company expects to finalize in the near term.
