Dakota Gold is advancing the Richmond Hill Gold Project in South Dakota’s Black Hills, targeting a potentially low-cost mining operation in the historic Homestake Gold District.
Dakota Gold is working to develop the next gold mine in South Dakota’s historic Homestake Gold District, a region with a long history of gold production. Its near-term development focus is the Richmond Hill Gold Project, located in the Black Hills, where management sees an opportunity to establish a straight forward, cost-efficient mining operation.
Richmond Hill features a near-surface oxide gold deposit with a low strip ratio, meaning relatively little waste rock would need to be removed to access the mineralized material. The company is evaluating a conventional crushing and heap-leach processing approach, designed to support lower upfront capital requirements, operating costs and all-in sustaining costs.
Beyond the project's development potential, Dakota Gold sees an opportunity to bring new mining jobs and economic activity to South Dakota. With experienced leadership and a focus on efficient mine development, the company is working to establish a new chapter of gold production in one of America's most historic mining districts.
