DENVER, Colo. (247marketnews.com) -- Immuron (NASDAQ:IMRN) is adding another potentially important piece to its U.S. commercial strategy, announcing an exclusive distribution agreement with Sweden’s Calmino group AB to bring PROIBS to the American market. The move expands Immuron’s digestive-health portfolio beyond Travelan and gives the company another commercial product aimed at a large and recurring consumer-health need: the symptoms associated with irritable bowel syndrome. Importantly, this is not a molecule sitting years away from commercialization. PROIBS has already been sold in Sweden for more than a decade and, according to Calmino, was the best-selling IBS product in Swedish pharmacies during 2025, based on IQVIA sales data.
The U.S. opportunity is what makes the announcement particularly interesting. Immuron says the overall U.S. digestive/gut-health supplement market is valued at approximately $4.16 billion, although PROIBS is targeting only a subset of that market. The product is designed for abdominal pain, bloating and unsettled bowel movements associated with IBS, using AVH200, a proprietary extract derived from Aloe barbadensis. Calmino says PROIBS is a certified medical device and has expanded into more than 15 international markets. The company also reports that tens of thousands of consumers use PROIBS globally each month.
The early commercial evidence gives Immuron something tangible to work with. Calmino reports that a usability study involving 1,003 users found PROIBS helpful for 94% of participants, while 91% reported an improvement in daily life and 98% said they would recommend the product. Those are company-reported usability results, not proof of U.S. clinical or commercial success, but they provide a useful backdrop as Immuron prepares to introduce the product to a vastly larger market. The Swedish track record is arguably even more important: PROIBS was launched there in 2010 and has now achieved a market-leading position in the IBS segment.
Immuron Chief Commercial Officer Flavio Palumbo described the strategy directly: “Following the rapid growth of Travelan sales in the US, we have developed a commercial growth strategy to bring a portfolio of innovative digestive health products to market.”
There is also a strategic continuity between the Australian and U.S. launches. Immuron and Calmino previously partnered to bring PROIBS to Australia and New Zealand, and Immuron launched the product in Australia during FY26. Calmino CEO and founder Tobias Kisker said the relationship that began with Australia is now developing into a partnership across two continents, calling the United States the companies' “next important market together.” That matters because Immuron is not starting from scratch with the product or the supplier relationship.
