DENVER, Colo. (247marketnews.com) – The small-cap market is serving up a mix of stories centered on PDS Biotech (NASDAQ:PDSB), NeOnc (NASDAQ:NTHI), CEA Industries (NASDAQ:BNC), Bluejay Diagnostics (NASDAQ:BJDX), NuRAN Wireless (NASDAQ:NUR) and Roivant Sciences (NASDAQ:ROIV).
PDS Biotech
PDS Biotech (NASDAQ:PDSB) has arguably delivered one of the biggest fundamental catalysts in this group, announcing up to $22.55 million of financing led by Dr. Patrick Soon-Shiong, founder of NantWorks. The transaction also puts Soon-Shiong in line to join PDSB's board, subject to Nant maintaining the required ownership threshold. The financing is designed to push PDS0301 toward later-stage development in solid tumors, particularly metastatic colorectal cancer.
The financing is important because PDS has recently narrowed its strategy around PDS0301. The company has pointed to interim Phase 2 data in difficult-to-treat MSS/pMMR metastatic colorectal cancer as the basis for pursuing additional development. CEO Frank Bedu-Addo said, “We believe that the ongoing trials of PDS0301 at the NCI strongly suggest that PDS0301 has the potential to advance the treatment of solid tumors with immunotherapy.”
The market reaction has been dramatic: PDS was today’s most active gainer.
NeOnc Technologies
NeOnc (NASDAQ:NTHI) is emerging as another clinical-stage biotech story, with the company's central catalyst revolving around NEO100, an intranasal investigational therapy for recurrent IDH1-mutant high-grade glioma. NeOnc reported second-quarter results in August and scheduled an investor presentation around its Phase 2a topline data.
The company is a multi-Phase 2 clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company focused on central nervous system cancers and NeOnc's recent communications have increasingly centered the investment story around clinical development rather than an early-stage discovery narrative.
There is also an insider-confidence angle. NeOnc previously disclosed that its CEO had purchased more than $500,000 of NTHI shares in the open market.
CEA Industries
CEA Industries (NASDAQ:BNC) is no longer primarily the controlled-environment-agriculture story its name might suggest. The company has transformed itself into a BNB-focused digital-asset treasury, holding hundreds of thousands of BNB tokens and offering investors a public-market vehicle tied to the Binance ecosystem. Its fiscal 2026 results showed $115.2 million of net income, helped substantially by digital-asset-related gains.
The transformation has been dramatic. CEA closed a $500 million private placement in 2025 to fund its BNB treasury strategy and changed its ticker from VAPE to BNC. The company subsequently reported more than 515,000 BNB in treasury holdings. Management has described the strategy as an institutional-grade way to gain exposure to the BNB ecosystem.
Bluejay Diagnostics
Bluejay Diagnostics (NASDAQ:BJDX) is building a commercialization story around its Symphony near-patient diagnostic platform and an IL-6 test designed to help clinicians assess sepsis risk. The company recently completed enrollment of 750 patients in its pivotal SYMON-II clinical validation study, an important milestone on the path toward a planned FDA 510(k) submission.
Bluejay has also been working aggressively on manufacturing and financing. The company reported approximately $9.6 million in cash at the end of June and said it had signed a U.S. manufacturing contract intended to mitigate supply-chain risk. CEO Neil Dey said, “With targeted enrollment of 750 patients in SYMON-II now completed, our focus is increasingly shifting towards manufacturing readiness and the activities necessary to support our planned regulatory submission and commercialization.”
NuRAN Wireless
NuRAN Wireless (NASDAQ:NUR) is pursuing a distinctly different growth story: rural telecommunications infrastructure across Africa. The company operates a Network-as-a-Service model in which it finances, builds, owns and operates mobile-network infrastructure for operators expanding coverage outside major urban markets. NuRAN says it has more than 5,000 sites under contract.
The company has been busy establishing itself on Nasdaq. Its shares began trading on the Nasdaq Capital Market in August, alongside the kickoff of a new three-year, approximately $5 million West African project for a state-owned mobile operator. NuRAN also recently closed a C$7.6 million financing and filed a base-shelf prospectus that could support additional capital-market transactions.
The latest strategic twist is even more interesting: NuRAN says it wants to turn thousands of powered rural telecom sites into the next layer of African digital infrastructure by adding edge AI and local computing capabilities. At the same time, it has applied to voluntarily delist from the Canadian Securities Exchange, leaving Nasdaq as its central U.S. trading venue.
Roivant Sciences
Roivant Sciences (NASDAQ:ROIV) just produced one of the strongest clinical catalysts in this group. The company announced that its experimental drug mosliciguat met the primary objectives of a mid-stage trial in patients with pulmonary hypertension associated with interstitial lung disease. Reuters reported that the stock jumped approximately 17% following the results.
The reported data showed a 56.3% reduction in pulmonary vascular resistance and an improvement in six-minute walk distance of 35.2 meters, according to market coverage of the results. The market immediately began reassessing the commercial potential of the program, with some analysts viewing mosliciguat as potentially capable of becoming a multibillion-dollar drug if development succeeds across additional indications.
Roivant also enters this catalyst with a broader commercial story developing around its pipeline. Commercial preparations for brepocitinib in dermatomyositis were reported to be progressing toward a planned launch by the end of September.
