Veea Targets 1,000 Unattended Stores in Major Edge-AI Retail Expansion

DENVER, Colo. (247marketnews.com) -- Veea (NASDAQ:VEEA) is putting a major commercial marker on its edge-computing strategy after announcing an agreement with TROLLEE Holdings Limited for the phased deployment of VeeaONE across as many as 1,000 unattended stores. The rollout is expected to begin with up to 50 locations, with a typical configuration estimated at approximately $1,000 to $2,000 per store, depending on size and layout. The deal gives Veea a tangible deployment opportunity for its combination of local AI computing, secure connectivity, cybersecurity and remote device management.

The technology is designed to address some of the biggest challenges facing unattended retail: loss prevention, shopper and store safety, predictive maintenance and remote monitoring. Veea says TROLLEE plans to run applications and AI models locally through VeeaONE, using connected cameras and sensors to identify potential loss events while enabling remote viewing and management. The architecture combines VeeaHubs with NVIDIA Jetson devices, VeeaWare software and VeeaCloud management, creating an edge-computing environment where video analytics and AI inference can take place closer to the store rather than relying entirely on centralized cloud processing.

That local-processing capability is a key part of the pitch. Veea says running appropriate workloads at the edge can reduce dependence on cloud processing, improve response times and provide greater control over where camera streams and store data are processed. The planned network also incorporates federated learning, allowing participating locations to contribute to a broader AI environment while maintaining local processing capabilities. The approach potentially gives TROLLEE a standardized infrastructure for deploying new applications and updating AI models remotely as individual stores evolve.

“This agreement is a concrete commercial step in our expanded partnership with TROLLEE,” said Veea Chairman and CEO Allen Salmasi. He added that VeeaONE gives TROLLEE a common environment for turnkey deployment of smart retail applications across VeeaONE nodes, including edge accelerators. TROLLEE CEO Thim Chiew said the company's priority is to deliver retail applications that can operate reliably in unattended stores while scaling with customers, adding that VeeaONE allows TROLLEE to deploy turnkey edge networks without integrating a large number of separate systems.
